Here are the six brilliant shortlisted books for the 2021 Oscar’s Book Prize, which highlights the best in new books for children under five.

The prize was created in honour of Oscar Ashton, who loved stories that fed his imagination. He was three and a half when he passed away from an undetected heart condition in 2012.

This year’s shortlisted books are:
