Your child can learn how to turn clothes into poems in under 10 minutes with help from poet and performerSimon Mole. Even an old pair of socks can be inspiring!
All you have to do is watch the video together, press pause when Simon says so and encourage your child to note down their ideas as you watch. You can also share the tips below with your child to help with their poetry writing.
You will need:
- Pens or pencils
- Paper
Top tips for your child:
- No need for full sentences.
- No need to write neatly. (Although of course you can do both if you want to!)
- Include as much detail as you can.
- Say “yes” to your own ideas. (If something pops into your head, note it down. Even if it seems boring or obvious or silly. There is time to edit and improve things later.)
This activity will help your child to get creative with words while having lots of fun.
