Post a letter or card

postbox

Posting or delivering a letter or card to a family member, friend or neighbour is a great reason to get out for a walk.

Invite your child to draw a picture or decorate a card and maybe have a go at representing their own name.

Explain to them why you need to write the name of the person it’s for and add an address and stamp if it’s going in a post box.

Walk together to post the letter and see what you can see and talk about on the way.

Top tip!

As you write words sound out the letters you are using. Older children might be able to help you work out which letter sounds you need as you say the words.
