This activity gives your child the chance to be a book reviewer. Book reviews are a great thing to try to support their writing skills. It encourages them to think and chat about a book they like. Encourage them to choose a book them like and have read recently. Ask them to write out the following categories:

If they get stuck, trying chatting to them about the book. Ask questions and give them time to think and respond. If they like or dislike something in a book, ask them why.

Once they’ve finished writing, you can give them the chance to be creative and make a poster for the book. They can add the title and author, as well as a picture of the front cover or the characters.
